The Sampaguita beneath the book symbolizes the purity of Mary and Filipino origin of school. In the center of the seal is an open book, which signifies Evangelization and Education. A Latin inscription Initium Sapientiae Timor Domini is written on it. This means, The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The SMCM motto signifies filial fear a disposition of profound awe, love and reverence with God our Father, the source of wisdom, grace and life.
